I am a renowned highlighter/underliner of books and have been for many a year. This has probably been the most difficult transition for me from physical books to digital books – other than the lack of their physical presence and ownership I guess. Still, I have now begun highlighting and annotating via Kindle. Do you write or mark your books/ebooks in any way? Please share in the comments if you do and why – I’d love to know.

I think it is fair to say that most people who visit this Blog have some kind of love for books/ebooks/audiobooks – it just goes with the territory. I’d say it is also probably fair to say that most people who visit here have a lot of the said books/ebooks/audiobooks – and have not read all of them (possibly most of them). Why is that? Perhaps you would like to share your thoughts in the comments.

Many years ago I came to the point where I just couldn’t expand my conventional personal library any further – there just wasn’t any more room. Thankfully, I live in an age where I no longer need the physical room in order to expand my library and with many thousands of digital books (ebooks) currently in my possession that is a good thing – just how would I have been able to accumulate that many physical books?
The link below is to an article that makes the case for keeping a conventional personal library and though I would love to have my library in such a form, for me it just isn’t possible.

The link below is to an article that looks at ‘gatekeepers,’ which in this case are those who keep bad books back from entering the ‘book fold’ – i.e. those with poor spelling, poor grammar, etc. This, I believe, is an important issue when there are so many self-publishing options out there. Sure, I believe in free trade and the right of pretty much anyone to sell what they like – but I also believe in quality and products that are fit for purpose.
